While the barge modules were being fabricated, Pepper dredged the existing six-foot-deep marina, increasing its depth to 16-feet to accommodate the new vessel. To ensure that the building could float, six barges were prepped with components of the casino’s structural steel frame before being transported to the Hammond Marina and joined together to form the foundation for the 350,000-square-foot casino and convention center. Pepper delivered, constructing the largest floating facility in the United States. When Caesar’s Entertainment wanted to construct a new casino in Indiana, they looked to Pepper to build a structure that complied with existing riverboat casino regulations.
